The 9th GMP Conference has started in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Representatives from 25 countries will participate as speakers in the three-day event. The business program will include 12 sessions and 3 master classes. The theme of all events is the slogan “GMP – continuous development”.
Continuous development is an essential for strengthening and enhancing the pharmaceutical industry. Development is necessary in the research of medicines, the introduction of new technologies for the production of innovative medicines, the improvement of quality systems of pharmaceutical facilities and, of course, development concerns issues of regulating the circulation of medicines. This was announced at the grand opening of the 9th Pan-Russian GMP Conference with International Engagement by the Director of SID & GP of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladislav Shestakov.
GMP Conference is the largest annual event in the field of good manufacturing practices, which has been held since 2016 in different cities of Russia. In 2024, the pharmaceutical community of experts and regulators from 25 countries with the participation of a WHO representative gathered in Ufa to discuss development vectors, peculiarities and prospects for interaction in the pharmaceutical industry, the specifics of the production of biological and advanced-therapy medicinal products, and breakthrough approaches to building a quality system.
“Since 2020, the GMP Conference has been held in a mixed format, so as the event progresses, the number of participating countries will only grow – viewers from all over the world will join us, — said Mr. Vladislav Shestakov. “After all, the program is focused on continuous improvement of production processes, development, management, and all aspects of the medicinal product life cycle.”
As estimated by organizers, more than 600 participants attended the opening and plenary session alone. The 9th Pan-Russian GMP Conference with International Engagement will last until August 23.
